Trick Dog

pups-40.jpg

The benefits of teaching your dog fun tricks are endless, and accessible for anyone, anywhere!

Let's look a few:

  • Rainy day? Learning tricks stimulate both you, and your dog's mind easily in the living room.

  • Tricks are disability friendly as you can choose from a pool of them to adjust to you, or your dog's needs.

  • Teaching your dog ways to move their body like each individual paw can help assess exact injury and assess/assist in recovery.

  • Teaching dogs to use their body in different ways/stretching their body in different ways can help prevent injury.

  • Challenging both you and your dog's mind daily helps keep both of your minds more elastic and healthier.

  • Mastering tricks grows not just your dogs confidence, but yours too.

  • It is one of the easiest ways to strengthen the bond between you and your best friend.

  • Most tricks can be used as life skills. For example, teaching a dog to target the bridge of their nose to your hand can help with giving a pill from the vet, checking their mouth for exam, brushing their teeth, or build into a valuable management skill later for over aroused dog's.

The list could go on forever!

There are a handful of hosts you can test your skills with and earn titles. "AKC" titles are easy and reactive dog friendly since you can send in videos to test. "Do More With Your Dog" hosts these titles as well. One reason I prefer them over AKC is because although they are both entry level friendly, "DMWYD" encourages a higher level of growth in your skills than AKC does, so you have more options to continue in the end.

With all the positive benefits we hope you come and join us playing "Trick Dog" games!
